Are you one of those people who thinks the problems facing our country will not impact us here in Montana?  Do you believe all is well in Montana because our state seems to be faring better than most of the others?

Then these pages are for you.

We’ve all learned the story about the Trojan horse. It is important for each of us to understand that this strategy is alive and well today, but more subtle means are used to accomplish the goals and objectives of special interests, powerful politicians, and a handful of the very wealthy.

Who doesn’t want a clean environment, educational opportunities and quality healthcare for all of our citizens?  The problem begins when issues  such as these that start out with the noblest of intentions, are co-opted by well funded, organized groups and individuals with a completely different agenda.

Another important principle to remember is that of incrementalism.  Sometimes a program, ideology or agenda creeps into the culture or the debate so gradually, so slowly that most of us don’t even realize a shift has occurred.  This is accomplished through the use of media, movies, the results of skewed opinion polls, or through curriculums in our public schools and institutions of higher education, just to name a few.

As you read through this material, also be aware of the divide and conquer strategy.  Rhetoric on social and emotional issues like religion, gay marriage, the environment, abortion, race etc., are used to distract and divide us.  While these issues are significant, in the overall picture, they are secondary to the larger, more fundamental political and economic issues that lead to our wealth being stolen from us, and ultimately, our lives being increasingly dominated by a small few.

With some diligence, and with a little common sense and a good dose of skepticism, it’s easy to find the information you need to make sense of all that is going on.

The Trojan Horse was a strategy used by the Greeks to enter Troy. After a fruitless 10-year siege, they constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively ending the war.
